Initial swelling and bruising take one to two weeks to resolve. Depending upon the scope of the procedure, the operation takes one to three hours to complete.

Recovery

Eyelid swelling and bruising under the eyes are a normal part of post-operative recovery. Rest and cold compresses, applied with pressure, are recommended for the first 7 to 10 days after surgery. Stitches are normally removed on the 4th – 6th day after surgery.
After 10 to 14 days, patients can apply cosmetics / make up as notmal, including make-up, sports and strenuous activities can normally recommence 3 to 4 weeks. You should avoid direct sun light during this period. Patients are also advised to wear high protection (SPF16+), sunglasses and hats for 6 to 8 weeks after your procedure.
